Mr. Mesdag founded Red Mountain Capital Partners in 2005. Prior to founding Red Mountain, he spent 21 years at Goldman Sachs in New York, London, Frankfurt and Los Angeles, and became a general partner in 1990. While at Goldman, he co-founded the firm’s debt capital markets, asset securitization and European financial institutions businesses, and led investment banking services in the U.S. West Region and the German Region. Prior to Goldman, he was a securities lawyer with Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll in Philadelphia. Mr. Mesdag received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1974 and his J.D. from the Cornell Law School in 1978.
Chris Teets joined Red Mountain as a founding Partner in 2005. Previously, he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the Investment Banking Division on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, debt and equity offerings, corporate restructurings and raid defense. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2000, he worked in the investment banking division of Citigroup. Mr. Teets received his B.A. from Occidental College in 1996, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his M.Sc. from the London School of Economics in 1997. He currently serves on the Council of Institutional Investors Corporate Governance Advisory Council.
